Air Import Specialist

Your Tasks

  • You monitor and track daily air import shipments from arrival through final delivery.
  • You keep shipment status information up to date and proactively communicate delays to customers.
  • You prepare and send arrival notifications.
  • You ensure customer deadlines and service commitments are consistently met.
  • You coordinate terminal fee payments and verify customs clearance status.
  • You arrange and monitor final mile deliveries, including truckload, expedited and LTL shipments.
  • You follow up with airlines, carriers and transportation partners to ensure smooth execution.
  • You prepare shipment billing and support win/loss analysis.
  • You communicate daily with customers, customs brokers, airlines and transportation providers by phone and email.

Your Qualifications

  • You are passionate about logistics and enjoy working in the dynamic world of global trade.
  • You thrive in a fast-paced air freight environment and know how to prioritize effectively.
  • Quality service and satisfied customers, whether internal or external, are important to you.
  • You remain organized, focused and professional, even in challenging situations.
  • You have experience in air import operations and understand the end-to-end shipment process.
  • Experience in dispatching truckloads, expedited trucks and LTL freight is preferred
  • Experience working with AS/400 is a plus, but not required.
  • Knowledge of German or Spanish is helpful, but not a must.
